Overview

Be familiar with the up to date guidelines for PALS, feel comfortable assessing and treating pediatric patients using the PALS algorithms and have a better understanding of the pediatric disease processes.

Target Audience
Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics

Date & Location
Occurs yearly on the 4th day of February starting on 2/4/2020 at 8:00 AM, Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI

Objectives
  1. employees will strive for excellence, seek new opportunities to learn, promote research and adopt best clinical practice in the care of pediatric patients.
  2. Providers will be up to date with current information and standards of care as determined by the American Heart Association, Internal Liaison Committee on Resuscitation, and American Academy of Emergency Medicine. This program provides appropriate education for learners to develop and carry out patient management plans of the pediatric patient population
  3. Learners will apply the up to date guidelines for PALS and demonstrate better understanding of the pediatric disease processes through assessing and treating pediatric patients using the PALS algorithms
  4. learners will develop and perform proper closed –loop communication with other health professionals in a responsive and responsible manner that supports the care of the patient.
  5. Providers will participate in different team roles to establish, develop, and continuously enhance interprofessional teams to provide patient- and population centered care that is safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Bronson Healthcare Group. Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit amount subject to change.
