9th Annual Joint WMCC/WMed Surgery Cancer Symposium - Transforming Esophageal Cancer Care: Multidisciplinary Approaches in the Modern Era

This continuing education activity provides an in-depth overview of current best practices in the care and management of patients with esophageal cancer. Participants will explore the epidemiology, risk factors, and pathophysiology of esophageal malignancies, along with advances in screening, diagnosis, and staging. The program will highlight multidisciplinary treatment approaches, including surgical interventions, radiation therapy, systemic treatments, and emerging targeted and immunotherapies. Emphasis will be placed on patient-centered care, including symptom management, nutritional support, and strategies to improve quality of life throughout the continuum of care. Through case-based discussion and evidence-based guidelines, learners will enhance their ability to recognize clinical presentations, coordinate care across specialties, and apply current standards to optimize outcomes for patients with esophageal cancer.
