Human Trafficking (Beyond the Chart)

In this training, participants will learn about Human Trafficking: What it is, how it can show up in a variety of places, situations and the types/definitions of human trafficking. Warning signs of human trafficking, how to help and what to do/how to respond will be discussed. Resources for those impacted by human trafficking will be identified and shared.

1. After attending this session, participants will be able to list 2-3 signs of Human Trafficking behaviors.
2. After attending this session, participants will be able to assess who is at risk of human trafficking and who to contact locally to report and connection to local resources.
3. After attending this session, participants will evaluate how they respond to human trafficking using a trauma informed and survivor informed approached, safe messaging and what they can do in response to human trafficking.

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Interprofessional Continuing Education
