Objectives
  1. Identify and describe healthcare-specific LGBTQ+ terminology.
  2. Utilize inclusive frameworks to avoid microaggressions in the healthcare field toward LGBTQ+ individuals.
  3. Create an inclusive environment and systems for LGBTQ+ patients.
  4. Examine, screen for, and mitigate risk factors for LGBTQ+ patients.
  5. Assist patients in finding inclusive networks and organizations.
  6. Implement trauma-informed frameworks for screenings, risk assessment, and practicing care.
  7. Identify unique risk factors for indigenous and two-spirit individuals.
  8. Demonstrate inclusive communication and practice regarding LGBTQ+ patients with multiple intersecting minority statuses.

Virtual tele-mentoring program covering Implicit Bias Training topics on equity in healthcare. This program offers eight independent one-hour sessions over two parts. Each one hour session offers didactic education on inclusive practices for rural healthcare, with a supporting patient case study to transfer didactic education into a real patient care practices. Peer discussion and final treatment recommendations are offered at the end of the session, along with resources.
