Objectives
  1. Identify opportunities and obstacles to integrating spirituality into heath care from the perspective of physicians, chaplains, and community religious leaders.
  2. Describe opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration to promote the integration of spirituality into health care
  3. Identify steps they can take to engage religious traditions and practices as resources for understanding and practicing good medicine
  4. Identify spiritual practices that can be used to support one’s professional and personal well-being.
  5. Recognize the potential of mind-body-spirit programming in medical school settings
  6. Summarize current trends in spirituality beliefs in the U.S. and their implications for spiritual assessment
  7. Describe the impact of COVID-19 on integrating spirituality into heath care
  8. Recognize the importance of provider spiritual self-care

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
