2025 Great Lakes Homeland Security Conference

Since its start in 1999, when just 75 individuals attended, the Great Lakes Homeland Security Training Conference has continued in its purpose to enhance the capabilities of those who protect our homeland. With dynamic speakers such as Chief David Brown, Oliver North, Colin Powell, Martin Dempsey, Rudy Guiliani, Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, Marcus Luttrell, and many more, the conference has continued to grow each year, attracting more than 1,200 attendees. 1. Summarize the lessons learned from the healthcare perspective from the Kansas City Chief Superbowl celebration mass shooting.
2. Discuss the ways a system-wide hospital approach can reduce violence against healthcare professionals.
3. Summarize the lessons learned from the Ascension healthcare response to a cyber attack in the hospital system.
4. Describe the role of Office of Strategic Partnerships and Technology Innovation within the FDA plays in working to mitigate the risks associated with Internet-connected medical devices.
5. Summarize the response to two hurricanes by the HCA Florida Health System and their HCA Enterprise Emergency Operations Center.
6. Describe five cases of emerging pathogens that could have a significant impact on a community's resources, including first responders, healthcare, public health, and emergency management.
