2nd Annual Michigan Healthcare Licensure Conference

The Healthcare Credits for Michigan Licensure Conference is an opportunity to earn essential credits and stay ahead in your medical licensure journey. This virtual conference will focus on providing the specific CE requirements needed for one’s medical license renewal (implicit bias, medical ethics, pain management, and human trafficking sessions). This one day conference will allow you the opportunity to fulfill your licensure requirements in a convenient and engaging manner.

1. Provide health care services to patients, families, and communities aimed at preventing health problems or maintaining health
2. Implement best practices related to cultural competency to improve patient care
3. Demonstrate professional integrity during patient care with an awareness of the patient's identity and background
4. Identify signs of human trafficking, manage pain complications, address ethical concerns, and/or instances of implicit bias

In support of improving patient care, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Interprofessional Continuing Education
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 7.0 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.

Physicians
Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 7.0 general continuing education credits.

Psychologists
This program is co-sponsored by the American Psychological Association for continuing education credit. The American Psychological Association retains responsibility for the program.  This activity is designated for 7.0 APA CE Credits.

Dieticians
Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit=One CPEU). 

If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60 minute hour = 1 CPEU).

RDs and DTRs are to Select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner's discretion.
