2023-2024 Women's Leadership Initiative

The Women’s Leadership Initiative at WMed empowers cohort members to identify personal strengths and areas for growth relative to leadership roles and articulate their vision and goals for their career paths. Cohort members will expand and deepen their networks, cultivate and enhance professional relationships, and build relationships across organizations. The mission of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at WMed is to support and recognize emerging leaders and to train and mentor emerging leaders for future success.

Occurs monthly on the last Friday starting on 9/29/2023 at 1:00 PM

1. Create a personal leadership philosophy.
2. Develop a personal leadership style.
3. Identify the key dimensions of leadership in diverse cultures and contexts.
4. Practice the key dimensions of leadership in diverse cultures and contexts.
5. Develop and maintain networking contacts with other leaders.
6. Employ continuous learning and improvement techniques within their organization.
7. Develop future leaders.

In support of improving patient care, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
