42nd Annual Kalamazoo Community Medical and Health Sciences Research Day

Research Day is a yearly commemoration at WMed, spotlighting the scholarly endeavors of students, residents, and the healthcare team through the exploration of research and scholarly activities spanning various disciplines such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, and more. The presentations and posters featured during Research Day provide fresh insights, contributing to a deeper understanding of both general and discipline-specific knowledge for attendees. To ensure a comprehensive grasp of the diverse topics to be presented, attendees will have the chance to review abstracts ahead of Research Day. Following each oral presentation, a dedicated question-and-answer session will empower attendees to further enrich their understanding by engaging with presenters, fostering an environment where the audience can benefit from the exchange of knowledge.

1. Contribute to the creation, dissemination, application and translation of new healthcare knowledge and practices.
2. Identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and/or attitude.
3. Identify and discuss innovative basic, clinical, and population-level health care research and practices being conducted locally.
4. Recognize the research being conducted locally on a range of health topics.

In support of improving patient care, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
